NELFUND STUDENT LOAN DISBURSEMENT HITS ₦140.8BN AS BENEFICIARIES NEAR 800,000
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund has released an updated daily status report showing steady progress in the rollout of the student loan scheme, with a total of 788,947 beneficiaries recorded from inception to 30th November 2025.
According to the dashboard summary, NELFUND has received 1,193,228 applications since the portal launched on 24th May 2024. The latest figures indicate a 0.3 percent rise in new applications, translating to an additional 3,367 entries compared to the previous day.
As of 12th November 2025, disbursements to institutions and students stand at ₦140,884,471,374. The report shows ₦82,346,711,374 paid directly to 262 institutions for tuition, while ₦58,537,760,000 has been disbursed as upkeep allowance to students.
The Fund described the milestone as a reflection of its commitment to delivering on one of the key promises under the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu noted in the report that the initiative is designed to empower every Nigerian student through accessible financial support.
