University of Benin (UNIBEN) suspends Student Union Government (SUG) Indefinitely
Five Executives of the University of Benin Students Union Government Suspended indefinitely by the Senators of the Supreme Parliament of the SUG.
They are:
The President
Vice President
Secretary General
Director of Welfare
Director of Finance
The President was suspended for allegedly signing an agreement with the school authority that led to students paying the sum of N3000 for course registration which was free prior to this current session and for subsequently going ahead to lead a “false protest” after the executive members had reportedly failed to benefit from the “deal” struck by both parties.
The vice president of the government, Hon. chikamso glory was suspended for allegedly sourcing funds amounting to over a million Naira without the consent or approval of the parliament.
While the director of welfare was suspended for neglecting his duties as the school environment has been left untidy, bushy and also for his negligence in attending to the light issues on the campus.
The 5 executive members suspended are to return all union properties and evacuate their offices until the committee set up to investigate their alleged crimes have come up with a reply.
